Acceptance

They tell us 

We MUST accept that times have changed 

the world around us surreal and strange 

We MUST accept new rules apply 

And hard as it is we MUST  comply 

We MUST accept life’s different now

We will adapt some way somehow 

We MUST accept a new world order 

And guards will stop us at the border 

we must accept there’s no more school 

We MUST conform to government rule 

we MUST stay home while loved ones die 

Attend no funerals stay home and cry 

We MUST adhere to what they advise 

Allowed out only to exercise 

No walks in the park 

no strolls on the beach 

our nurses are dying 

no teachers to teach

our children are frightened

 our parents alone 

we keep in touch by FaceTime or phone 

Life is different no longer the same 

classified secrets our lives just a game 

I hope  that We will get through the pain 

Battle the storm and dance in the rain 

swim in the ocean and bathe in the sun 

but  I fear the end of our freedom's begun
