Announcing – The St David’s Day Photograph Competition

Have your phones and cameras at the ready! An intriguing competition to mark St David's Day for our Welsh students, with prizes to be won.

Calling all students in Wales! We are hosting a competition for St Davids Day. If you are into your photography and love the place you live, then this is the competition for you.

Introducing: The Saint Davids Day Photograph Competition!

Simply take a picture of your "favourite place in Wales", and either send it to the community mailbox at or post it in the comments of the photo competition post on our Welsh Facebook page. This can either be a photo which tells us something about your part of Wales or a photo of your favourite place in Wales. This could be where you live, where you go on holiday, or somewhere you have childhood memories of.

Feel free to mention where in Wales the photo is taken! This competition is being ran by The Students Association’s Area Rep for Wales Hanna Silk, who will be judging this, along with the Teaching and Learning Policy Officer of Wales.

The competition launches on the 1st March 2022 and closes at 11pm on the 15th March 2022.

If you enter, you’ll have the chance to win an OU Students Association mug, a stuffed owl from the OU Shop and a certificate!

Announcements for the winner will be on the 17th March.

For those who are struggling to think of what to take a picture of, or want a bit more guidance, here are some pictures selected by Hanna herself to get that inspiration going:

Take as many different pictures as you want until you’re happy with one of them, then simply submit your entry.

So get inspired, get out there and take those photos!

Good luck everyone!

Please see full terms and conditions before entering.
