Too few stock images portraying Black and South Asian students are available to purchase from image websites, and of those that are available many feel very staged and do not depict the realities of distance learning.
The OU has partnered with Alamy, a leading stock image library, to change this.
Together, we’ve launched a competition inviting photographers to capture candid shots that represent an authentic portrayal of distance learning for Black and South Asian students.
The winning submission will receive a free place on the OU digital photography short course developed in partnership with the Royal Photographic Society and up to nine finalists will each receive a prize of £100.
If your entry is chosen to appear on Alamy, you will also be able to earn income if your photos are purchased by any of Alamy’s customers.
While OU staff are not eligible to enter the competition, OU students most definitely are!
We’d love you to get involved and be in with a chance of winning, please go to Alamy’s website to find out more.
The deadline for submitting entries is 19th December – good luck!
