After months of hard work undertaken by the Health and Social Care programme team in preparation for the Period Quality Review which took place on the 4th – 5th May 2022, we are pleased to inform you of the positive outcome of the Health and Social Care Periodic Quality Review. The review panel met with numerous colleagues at the OU involved in the production, delivery and oversight of the programme, and took feedback from both our staff and from external individuals such as external advisors and students, before making judgements of confidence in the academic quality and standards demonstrated by the programme.
We would like to thank again the group of students who met with the review panel to express their views and share experiences of studying different modules and qualifications from the Health and Social Care Programme.
Here are few examples of what the Review Panel have commended:
- the enthusiasm and commitment of the programme team in supporting students to succeed through the application of pedagogic expertise and reflective practice, and the qualification-focused approach to assessment, tuition and skills development.
- the commitment to providing high-quality content for diverse audiences across a range of platforms.
And recommended:
- to highlight opportunities for student engagement more widely and to articulate the benefits for students, for example skills development and community building.
- to ensure that there is greater consistency in the way that good academic practice skills development is delivered, for example extra videos and short tutorials on referencing.
