Open University students are distance learners, but that doesn’t mean we are isolated.
Freshers Fortnight is not only for the new starters. Open University students are distance learners, but that doesn’t mean we are isolated. Come and learn about Open University studies and the Students Association, meet your student reps, make friends and have fun. There are lots of prizes to be won as well!

We have over 40 events for you to get involved in! From opportunities to get to know your student reps and ask questions about being an OU student, to Society and Club-led talks on a wide range of topics from fitness to alien worlds! If that wasn’t enough, we even have social sessions such as a Quiz and Bingo, opportunities to meet students in your faculty or area, and sessions from OU Pride and the Disabled Students Group.
Take a look at all of the sessions on offer in our Freshers programme.
We also have plenty of competitions and prize draws to take part in. There will be a Passport Bingo Prize Draw (for each key session you attend, you can collect one entry to the prize draw), a Writing Competition, Quiz, Bingo and more! To be in with a chance of winning some fantastic prizes, from technology to OU merch, check back soon on the competitions and prize draws page for more info, or sign up to our special Freshers mailing list.
