Meat-Free Monday: Pass the Parsley!

To kick off Sustainability Week, we asked OU students to tell us their favourite meat-free dishes!

It’s Sustainability Week! All this week on The Hoot, we’ll be publishing articles focused around living more sustainably, and simple things you could do that can make a huge impact. To start us off with Meat-Free Monday, we asked OU students to tell us their favourite meat-free dishes. Why not let them inspire you next time you’re in the kitchen?

Creamy Garlic Pasta

Creamy garlic pasta. Found the recipe on NHS smart recipe app. We use it to chuck in all our left over vegetables so nothing gets wasted. Occasionally add some Cajun seasoning so we don't get bored. No waste, quick to make, budget friendly and a family pleaser! Win win!

Homemade Pizza

Homemade pizza smothered with mushrooms, pine nuts, raisins, onions, sweetcorn, sundried tomatoes and homemade vegan mozzarella!

Potato, Cheese, and Onion Pie

Potato, cheese and onion pie. Layered in a casserole dish. 😋

Spaghetti Bolognese

Spaghetti bolognese with soya mince instead of meat mince. Yum!

Easy Broccoli with Rice and Garlic Sauce

Easy broccoli served with rice and garlic sauce from healthyslowcooking.com. This is a lovely recipe and super quick and easy too.

And coming tomorrow...

If you would like to be a part of Sustainability Week, make sure to stay tuned to the OU Students Association Facebook and Twitter accounts all this week for different ways to get involved! Tomorrow we'll be asking OU students about their best recycling tips (and whether they've ever made something into something else!) so get thinking, and we'll see you on Wednesday for Waste Wednesday!
