Samhain – a Halloween poem

The veil is thinning, we welcome thee...

October fires, embers bare

Dusk falls, a sense of calm

The veil is thinning, we welcome thee

Ancestral presence envelopes us

Flickering tealights, in pumpkins alike

Abundant broomsticks grace these porches

Costumes aglow under the moonlight

Children’s laughter radiates

Orange leaves crunch in response to our step

Aromas of cinnamon wrap around our senses in a loving embrace

Witches and ghouls welcome us

They dance under the blackened sky

Terrifying tales fill our hearts

Magic engulfs our soul

Ambience warms us

Forever, my Samhain
