International Womens Day celebrates and highlights the incredible work women do across the globe, and we've chosen to highlight the work of three academics with different focus areas doing amazing work in their field. 

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of the women involved in the Association including volunteers, members of the Student Leadership Team, Trustees and colleagues. Your work does not go unoticed, and we appreciate all that you do. 

Professor Sonia Gandhi

Prof. Sonia Gandhi is a trailblazer in Neurology at UCL & Francis Crick Institute.  Her pioneering research on protein misfolding and neurodegeneration propels women to the forefront of neuroscience,breaking barriers and advancing knowledge! 

Professor Marcia Wilson

Professor Marcia Wilson has held positions at both The Open university and University of Easy London focused on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. She has established projects that address inequalities in education and tackling racism in higher education, and has conducted research and taught her findings throughout her elustreous career.  She advocates for anti-racism, setting benchmarks and empowering women in leadership.

Professor Alex Sharpe

Professor Sharpe has spent over 20 years focused on reforming transgender law and has advised various political, legal and advocacy organisations on transgender laws and rights. She sits on the International Legal Committee of the World Professional Association of Transgender Health (WPATH), working on transgender litigation across the globe and continues to represent transgender groups in parliament.
