Referencing made easy: the latest Cite Them Right changes explained

Keep your referencing up-to-date (don't worry, it’s just a few small changes!)


You may have noticed a few tweaks to the Cite Them Right referencing guidance in the new 13th edition of the book. Not to worry, it is mostly small stuff. Here is a summary of what you might come across:

  1. Removal of place of publication from citations to most source types (e.g. books, films, maps).
  1. Inclusion of paragraph numbers in in-text citations where helpful (optional).
  1. Use title case for titles of works in your text and sentence case for reference list entries (the previous advice was to use the title as given).
