The OU has partnered with Santander Universities to offer two £5,000 scholarships to support OU students during the 2025/26 academic year.


The Open University has partnered with Santander Universities to offer two £5,000 scholarships to support OU students during the 2025/26 academic year. This scholarship is designed to help with education-related costs – from tuition fees and course materials to accommodation and career development.

Who can apply?

  • Open to current OU students (full-time equivalent) who are enrolled in any year of study during the 2025/26 academic year – in undergraduate or postgraduate study.
  • Full-time study with The Open University equates to completing 120 credits worth of study within a single, seasonal academic year (for example, two 60 credit modules).
  • 18+, UK resident and qualifies as a Home Fee Status student.
  • You don’t have to be a Santander customer.

How to apply

  1. Register for free on Santander Open Academy (if you haven’t already).
  2. Verify your email (check your inbox!)
  3. Log in, click ‘Get Started’ and complete the application form and online assessment.

Please apply by Thursday, 19 February.

  • Scholarships will be awarded to the applicants who meet the eligibility criteria as outlined in the Terms and Conditions and have the highest scores from the online assessment.
