A wide range of activities are taking place at the Glasgow Science Festival in June, hosted by staff and students from the Open University’s Faculty of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS).
As well as being free, family day activities, the events may be of particular interest to Open University students, as well as a chance to meet OU staff.
The OU’s long-standing relationship with Glasgow Science Festival continues with activities in 2026’s programme. This year, the festival is themed ‘Cheers to 20 Years’ in recognition of its two decades of work to help make science accessible to adults and children alike.
Staff and students from The Open University will be on hand at the drop-in, interactive events at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum, on Saturday 6 June (from 1:30pm–4:30pm) and Sunday 7 June (from 12 noon–3:00pm).
The 11 activities on offer will include opportunities to build your own jet-powered boat, recreate Glasgow’s iconic buildings with LEGO, take part in a meteorite investigation, and explore how music transformed Glasgow.
