For tips, resources and friendly community support – if you're trying to teach yourself how to code, why not get started on an interesting subject through our Weather and Climate Club?

Or if you are more experienced, our club could help you apply your skills to portfolio projects that are relevant to research and industry, and to connect with others that share similar interests.

We are a new club and are busy setting up coding areas for beginners, on portfolio project ideas and how to use open source meteorological data sets.

We also want to help people find coding study buddies and become part of a collaborative coding community over weather and climate.

Our full club activities take place in our Discord Server. As well as coding, they include much more, such as helpful learning and career resources, book chats and podcast making! Our club induction video might be helpful in giving you a picture of what’s there.

The club was set up with the friendly encouragement of the Royal Meteorological Society through their student ambassador scheme, and we can connect you to weather and climate communities, both within and outside the OU.

We have made a start already, with much more to follow, so if you would like to support our initiatives, or follow what's available as we grow, you can find out our contact details and joining information below 👇
