At the Open University Students Association, we have a set of objectives based around advancing the education of OU students for the public benefit due to our status as a registered charity.
In short, we strive to help OU students uplift the communities around them whilst giving them plenty of opportunities for personal development. These objectives play a big part in informing the services and support we offer OU students during their studies, so we’d love to give you an idea of our objectives and some of the support we offer that aligns with them…
Objective 1: Defending the principles of equal opportunity and of open access to the University regardless of academic qualifications or financial circumstances.
Objective 2: Promoting the interests and welfare of students at the Open University during their period of study and representing and supporting students.
Objective 3: Being the recognised representative channel between students and the Open University and any other external bodies.
Objective 4: Asserting that all students studying with the Open University have the right to have their views heard and acknowledged by the University.
Objective 5: Providing social, cultural, and recreational activities and forums for discussions and debate for the personal development of its students.
