<div class="fr-view"><p>Studying at a distance doesn’t mean studying alone. As an Open University (OU) student, you can take advantage of SCONUL Access &#8211; a free national scheme that lets you study at and borrow books from many university libraries across the UK and Ireland.</p>
<p>Why OU students love SCONUL Access:</p>

<li><strong>Study alongside others &#8211; </strong>SCONUL Access gives you the chance to work in a university library environment, helping you feel part of a wider academic community and study alongside other students.</li>
<li><strong>Access quiet, comfortable study space &#8211;</strong> Need somewhere calm and focused? Many participating libraries offer quiet, well-equipped spaces designed for study &#8211; ideal if home isn’t always the best option.</li>
<li><strong><strong>Use a library closer to you &#8211; </strong></strong>The scheme allows you to access academic libraries that are local to you, making it easier to fit study around work, caring responsibilities, or other commitments.</li>
<li><strong>Reliable Wi-Fi when you need it &#8211; </strong>A nearby university library can also give you dependable internet access, helping you stay connected to your studies wherever you’re based.</li>

<p><u><strong>Who can join?</strong></u></p>
<p>The scheme is free for OU students who are currently registered on a module worth 30 credits or more. Once you’re a member, your access can be renewed each time you register for a new module. If you’re based outside the UK or Republic of Ireland, there may also be <a href="https://bit.ly/4sFptAd">international alternatives available</a>.</p>
