Au revoir from your 2022–24 Student Leadership Team

<div class&equals;"fr-view"><p><strong>The term of your Student Leadership Team &lpar;2022–24&rpar; at the Open University Students Association is ending&comma; marking the end of a remarkably successful chapter – both in the Association’s and University’s history&period;&nbsp&semi;<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Our team has left a lasting impact&comma; significantly advancing the Association&comma; whilst setting a high bar for those who will follow&period; So&comma; a massive thank you to every member of the SLT&comma; including those who left at some point during the two years&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>During the last two years&comma; the team introduced a wave of engagement and innovation&period; They launched initiatives that not only amplified the voices of students&comma; but also fostered a sense of community and belonging within the diverse student population&period; By organising regular virtual events that connected students worldwide and ensuring student representation on most University working groups&comma; boards of study and committees&comma; we showed our commitment to making a difference&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>One of our most notable legacies will be the changing our name from an Association to a Student Union – the work to achieve this fully has just begun after one of the most successful Association Conferences&comma;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The team also placed a strong emphasis on mental health to help students succeed&comma; both academically and personally&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Our efforts to promote inclusivity and diversity were equally significant&period; They championed policies that ensured student demographics were represented&comma; fostering a more inclusive and equitable environment&period; Their dedication to these principles has created a strong foundation for future leadership&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>As we step down&comma; we leave a legacy of resilience&comma; innovation and community spirit&period; We have shown that with vision&comma; dedication and teamwork&comma; remarkable achievements are possible&period; The new team of leaders will undoubtedly draw inspiration from our accomplishments&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Reflecting on our journey&comma; it is evident that the Open University Students Association and the University has been improved by our efforts&period; Their influence will be felt for years to come&comma; and as we depart to move on to new endeavours&comma; our legacy will continue to inspire and guide the Association&comma; ensuring the organisation remains a beacon of student leadership and advocacy&period;&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>We would like to thank not only our volunteers that work and give up their time for all our students – from meet-ups&comma; degree ceremonies&comma; clubs and societies to representing students within the University – but to every single member of our Association that makes our Association &lpar;or in the future our Union&rpar; what it is and will continue to be&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Also&comma; a huge thank you to our Association staff – from the CEO down – without whom we would not have managed to achieve very much at all&period; In addition&comma; a thank you to all the fantastic University staff whom we have worked with and who helped us make changes for the benefit of our students&comma; including the brilliant staff in Scotland&comma; Wales and Ireland&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong><em>&&num;8211&semi; Written by Mark Walker&comma; Deputy President at the Open University Students Association<&sol;em><&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<div id&equals;"zfWrap">&NewLine;&Tab;&Tab;&NewLine; <&sol;div>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<&sol;div>
