Hi everyone,

This is a short blog post about the way in which the OU’s Christian Union runs.

We are a group of students from different walks of life, but who are united by our faith. Our aim is to support other Christian students, staff and alumni and to create a community of Christians studying with The Open University, as well as sharing more about what we believe in with our wider community of students, staff and alumni.

The aim of the group is to help cultivate an interest in Christianity! The group is not exclusive to Christians – we have a number of people who have joined our group to ask the questions they may not feel comfortable asking elsewhere. We aim to provide a safe place to share about matters of belief, featuring students from all walks of life.

We have a summary link that collates the various medias we communicate through (Facebook, Instagram etc) which you can find here – http://bio.fm/openunicu.

We have an email, where you can send in prayer requests, and queries about our activities – openunicu@gmail.com.

If you would like to see our Constitution, that includes our Statement of Faith that all Officers adhere to, please contact us using any of the medias above and we can share it with you!

How are we run?

The CU is run by a small group of volunteers who organise and lead our meetings. These are held via Discord, and we mostly communicate via our WhatsApp group chat.

We currently have over 100 members and run weekly events including Bible studies and socials. These serve as a way to delve deeper into what we do as the CU – study the Word of God and have fellowship as a group.

Our members are an amazingly supportive group, who all seek to support and encourage each other!

What do we run?

We would absolutely love to hear from anyone who has any questions about the CU and would love to see you come along to our events! They run every week and we hope there is something for everyone!
