FarmBizAfrica, co-founded by Open SU’s Sustainability Representative, Jethro Tieman, has been nominated for The Hague Innovator Awards.

The climate news website has been nominated for both the Best Innovator Award and the Audience Award.

The Best Innovator Award will be decided at ImpactFest, a sustainability conference taking place in The Hague (in the Netherlands) on Thursday, 30 October. The seven nominated organisations (including FarmBizAfrica) will make pitches to to an jury made up of entrepreneurs, investors and policy-makers.

However, the Audience Award is decided by an online vote, which means you can take part (and vote for Jethro)! It’s a deserving case, though…

FarmBizAfrica has been a leading source of information and news for millions of farmers in Africa since its launch in 2011. Jethro has described the charity’s goal as a mission to ‘raise knowledge in order to raise yields, in order to raise incomes, in order to fight climate change’.

You can watch Jethro’s video pitch (on behalf of FarmBizAfrica below):

You can cast your vote now for the Audience Award – visit www.impactcity.nl/en/votenow/.

The deadline to vote is 11am (GMT) on Wednesday, 29 October.

The award winners will be announced during ImpactFest on Thursday, 30 October. They will receive cash prizes ranging from €2,500 to €15,000.
