Between now and 29 November The Open University and OU Students Association are teaming up to get students and staff involved in the Big Hog Friendly Litter Pick Challenge.
How does it work?
Staff members will take part in litter pick sessions on the OU campus during the month of November. However, you can take part in your challenge in your own time too. Either on your own, with family, friends or colleagues – do as much litter picking in your local area as you have time for, and email pictures of the bags of rubbish you collect to:
oustudents-insights@open.ac.uk
Litter pickers get a free digital certificate from Hedgehog Friendly Campus so please include the names of anyone involved who would like a certificate.
Our collective bags of rubbish will be totted up by Hedgehog Friendly Campus and if we win, they will send us a hedgehog house and hedgehog food for our campus.
Even if we don’t win, we will have cleared up our local areas not just for our communities but for local wildlife who won’t get trapped or accidentally eat the litter.
Can you help us with this challenge?
We would also love to see your pictures of you and family or friends doing this challenge! Tag us on X at @OUStudents or Instagram at @oustudentslive and use #Pick4Prickles. Our Sustainability Representative will choose his favourite photo and the student will be sent a bundle of OU students freebies!
